Environmental problems

In Kerala environmental problems caused due to consumption is many times higher than production. Still environmentalists keep on protesting against production and they are ignoring problems caused due to population growth. Banning things when demand is high will only help people who do illegal activities. How can we control soil mafia when homeless people want to construct new homes? How can we increase imports when CAD and inflation are high?

Environmentalists claim that we can control soil mafia by discouraging rich people from constructing or buying more than 1 house. How can we do more regulations when people who have more than 1 house are already paying income tax irrespective of whether they rent their extra house or not? If people can't buy things according to their earnings then how can Govt. demand tax according to their earnings? In Western countries rich people are not interested to construct new homes because resale value is low due to low population growth. Industrialists won't construct new factories if demand for product is low. So reduce demand by controlling population growth is the only solution to reduce environmental problems.

Increase in consumption of petroleum products is the reason for Sunburns. But same environmentalists who protest against new projects are also protesting against hike in petrol price and toll. So these environmentalists are encouraging consumption of oil which is causing environmental problems. I don't think we can reduce problems by reducing per capita consumption. The only way is to reduce total consumption by encouraging family planning.

Most malayalis hate Indian companies making profit. But they have no problems to see Middle East and Chinese companies making profit by exporting goods to India. We depend on Tamil Nadu for food, Middle East for oil and jobs and China, Japan etc. for electronic goods. Almost all citizens of Middle East countries are jobless. Now they don't need jobs because they earn more money as dividend from public sector oil companies than money earned by Indians working there. This will change when oil production in other parts of the world increase due to shale oil boom. Many malayalis will loss their jobs when more citizens of Middle East countries start doing jobs. If we don't create more jobs when people working in Middle East countries loss their jobs then more people will try to make money by doing illegal activities. So as always I still believe that population growth is the root cause of all problems of our country and state.

Population growth: The root cause of all problems

Different people consider different things as cause of all their miseries. Those are corruption, violence, pollution, illiteracy etc. But all these things are high in districts, states and countries with high population growth. Poverty is high in Malabar region than other parts of Kerala because fertility rate of Malabar region is very high compared to other parts of Kerala. Poverty is less in Kerala than other states because fertility rate is less in Kerala than other states. Poverty is high in Africa than other parts of the World because fertility rate is high in Africa than other parts of the World.

Its a fact that corruption and crime rate are directly proportional to fertility rate. Many people with more children are ready to work for sand and other mafias because they want to earn more money to feed their children. People will buy sand and bricks for constructing homes from cheap source irrespective of whether the source is illegal or Govt. approved. Some people are even ready to distribute fake currencies and help terrorists. They will vote for corrupt politicians to get peanut money. As most illiterate people are highly religious its easy for politicians to secure votes by forcing them to vow in front of holy books or idols.

Many environmentalists protest against construction of resorts in ecologically fragile land claiming that it will cause environmental problems. But the fact is thousands of new homes are constructed in EFL when a resort is constructed there. Environmental problems caused due to construction of those homes will be many times higher than problems caused due to construction of a resort. Environmentalists are also protesting aganist mining of sand and rocks used for construction. But if we look around ourself we will see more houses than factories or shops. So if we control population growth then we can reduce enviornmental problems as we need to construct only less homes. Western countries don't need to create more jobs because their population growth is very less. But we need to create more jobs because our population growth is very high. Creating more jobs will cause more environmental problems.

Due to high population growth many people are forced to live in barren land, ELF, flood prone areas, glaciers etc. Many people who live in barren land have to walk miles to bring drinking water. Many environmentalists who protest against factories in Kerala are claiming that we can construct factories in other states because they have enough barren lands. But the fact is if we construct factories in barren lands then size of barren land will increase and people who live there will be forced to walk more miles to bring water.

Many religious fanatics claim that we need high population growth due to shortage of work force. But the fact is many people go abroad because there is not enough work here. Many people in western countries are lossing their jobs not because they don't have enough qualifications or skills. But because immigrants from countries like India are ready to do same job at lower rates. But this won't last long because governments in those countries will be forced to do what their citizens likes and not what immigrants likes. So they will either force companies to reserve more jobs to their citizens or impose huge tax on immigrants. The same religious fanatics, who claim that 'big family is happy family', are accusing illiterate and poor people who have more children for living luxurious life when they don't have money to feed their children. My question to them is if high population growth is good then why districts, states and countries with high population growth and more work force are facing more poverty than other places? Eventhough wages are high in developed countries, MNCs like to start factories there because enough land, raw materials and power are available there. They are not interested to construct factories here because we don't have enough land and raw materials. They are not able to utilize work force due to frequent power cuts. High population growth in India is helping foreign companies to get cheap work force and high demand for their products. If we control population growth then demand for work force will increase. If people get more wages then they will spend more money and boost our economy. But if our oil imports increases then that will boost economy of Gulf countries only.

Educated politicians, environmentalists and religious fanatics have some similarities. Most of them have degree in literature or law and only few of them have degree in science or economics. Many people who have degree in literature are helping people by providing them entertainments. Many lawyers are helping poor people to get justice. But instead of using their knowledge to help people, these politicians, environmentalists and religious fanatics are brainwashing illiterate and poor people using sweet words.

Effects of population Growth

Population growth is root cause of inflation. RBI can't combat inflation by rate hikes. Population growth will make rich richer and poor poorer. Many wealthy Indians are buying properties in US and Europe at cheaper rates. But poor people in India can't do it. Corporates should increase profit by competing with foreign companies and not by exploiting increase in demand-supply mismatch due to population growth.

Regional political parties in Mumbai are protesting against migration because they fear that they will loss control of their city. Birth-rate of Mumbai is less. But still population is increasing due to migration. This can happen to Ernakulam district also if people from Malapuram migrate to Ekm. High birth-rate of villages are causing trouble to people of cities also.

In India 90% parents who have more than 2 children are either illiterate or poor or both. They can't provide good food and education to their children. They force their children to do child labour. People who talk about right of parents for having more children are not concerned about rights of children.

Majority of highly qualified malayalees work abroad or in other states. Some of them park their money abroad. This is affecting productivity of our state. Projects like smart city will help bring these people back to our state. This will increase tax income of our state. But for that we will have to free some land for accommodating them.

Can the earth support 7 billion population?

The world population reached one billion during early 1800s which is hundreds of thousands of years after the origin of human beings.. Population reached 2 billion after another 120 years. In the past 50 years population doubled from 3 billion in 1959 to 6 billion in 1998. This is the highest rate of population growth in history.

Growth should be measured according to prosperity and how well we satisfy human needs. Growth should not be measured according to population or GDP growth. Growth should be achieved preserving our biological and physical environment.

What is family planning?

Family planning is the planning done by husband and wife on when to have children and how many children should they have. This is done by using different techniques to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Govt. of densely populated countries encorage family planning through sexuality education.

Various services done by Govt. to help family planning are educational, medical and social activities which help people to decide the number of children and spacing between children and to select the technique to achieve that.
